Solving equations has never been easier!
As a tutor, my primary goal is to foster a deep love and appreciation for math and science in my students. In particular, I emphasize conceptual understanding and critical thinking in order to solve problems at every level. Many of my students have raised their grades by at least a full letter after just one academic term, and some have even earned math and science awards for their excellence!

Case Studies
Many students have raised their grades by at least a full letter after one semester of working with me!
KN
KN was in 8th grade when she first took lessons with me. She was failing math at the time, and, with hard work, she was able to receive an A by the end of the school year and earn a math award! She was also nominated for Student of the Year.
CC
CC studied Geometry with me for a summer term and an entire academic year. In her previous academic year, she had received a C in Algebra 1. In our summer sessions, I reviewed algebra concepts and gave her a head start on the material, leading to her receiving an A by the end of the school year.
EN
EN studied English with me for one full year. In one term, he went from “not meeting expectations” in his skills assessments to “exceeding expectations” in nearly every category. In one year, he also raised his reading level by two grades, as reported by the district’s iReady assessments. Additionally, he improved his public speaking skills with weekly coaching.
KT
KT took Chemistry and Algebra 2 as a sophomore and started lessons when she was almost failing in the fall semester. She worked with me the spring semester and successfully brought her grades from a D to a B in chemistry, and a D to an A in math.
Anna
"[Dustin] deserves an Oscar for not only fixing [my daughters'] problems but making them LOVE math!"
Lanie
"Your explanation of new concepts are great and if I don't understand something the first time I find it very easy to have a conversation about what I don't understand."
Owen
"Super helpful and understanding. The printable pdfs were really, really nice."
About Me.
My name is Dustin and I am a graduate student at Northeastern University and a highly qualified tutor with a strong background in science, mathematics, and English. My diverse background, broad range of experiences, and ability to approach topics from multiple angles make me well-equipped to help you excel.

Education
M.S. Industrial Engineering
Northeastern University
I am currently a master's student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Boston campus. Due to my academic and leadership achievements, I was accepted to the program on scholarship.
B.S. Chemical Engineering
California State University, Long Beach
I received high grades and demonstrated exceptional public speaking skills throughout my chemical engineering coursework. My consistent academic achievement has earned me a spot on the Dean's List. I served as the president of the International Society of Automation, where we hosted guest speakers from the industry and hosted PLC programming workshops.
B.A. Music
California State University, Long Beach
During my studies at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, I received world-class instruction in piano performance and pedagogy. Among my achievements is 3rd Prize in my school's piano scholarship competition in 2021. I also performed with RCC Indoor Percussion, a competitive music ensemble in which, under my leadership, we received the Silver Medal at the 2023 WGI World Championships.

In = Out
The principle of conservation of mass and energy states that neither matter nor energy can disappear or be generated spontaneously.
Teaching Philosophy
All ideal systems studied in science and engineering can be boiled down to this simple statement: The input must equal the output. No matter how complex a problem is, there is always a way to simplify it to better understand it and generate a meaningful solution from the simplified model.
